On August 16, participants in UNITE HERE’s Organizing Beyond Barriers program and UNITE HERE’s airline catering members took action at 30 airports to support United Catering workers’ fight for Equality, Safety, and Respect!

The day started off bright and early with Local 23 Indiana leafletting at Indianapolis International Airport.

Then, a crew from the New England Joint Board and New Haven Rising at Bradley International Airport, in Hartford, Connecticut also did a round of distributing flyers.

Orlando Local 362 showed support.

The Sunshine State wasn’t finished though. Local 355 went to Miami and Ft. Lauderdale Airports!

Next, Local 24 arrived at Cleveland-Hopkins International Airport and Detroit Metropolitan Airport. In Detroit, Areas USA Shop Stewards, servers, passengers and another local union, SEIU, stopped by to support.

  

Local 23 Biloxi, Mississippi at Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport.

Local 23 Texas Dallas and El Paso started their mornings with some action. Dallas was joined by the Tarrant County Central Labor Council AFL-CIO

Then Local 23 Texas did their action in Houston.

Local 8 went to Portland International Airport and Sea-Tac Airport.

Local 19 was in San Jose at San Jose International Airport.

Local 17 in Twin Cities (Minneapolis) distributed flyers at Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport.

Local 483 was at Monterey Regional Airport.

Local 2 and 2850 joined each other at San Francisco Airport.

Local 23 D.C. went to Dulles Airport.

Local 23 Atlanta was at Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

Bobby Kirkpatrick, a member of Local 23 Charlotte, who is also a worker at LSG Sky Chefs, passed out leaflets at Charlotte Airport.

Also in North Carolina, Local 23 leafletted at Raleigh-Durham Airport.

Local 11 was at LAX.

Locals 274 and 634 were at Philadelphia Airport.

Last but not least, the final action of the day was led by San Diego’s Local 30.
